Cynthia Elane is an NYC lens-based artist whose work revolves around the self -identification, and evolution of women as they navigate through cultural and societal restraints in both the entertainment industry and mainstream society.


Born in Queens NY, she spent 25+ years as a professional dancer before becoming a photographer.  The core of her work speaks to the human experience and individual identity and stems from that experience and what part the environment plays in the forming and evolution of one's identity.



A senior student at the Fashion Institute of Technology obtaining her BFA in Photography and Related Media with a minor in Art History. She currently resides in Long Island.
